L’ Efecte Volador Negre

Viticulture and Vineyards

Grapes that come from one estate that surrounds the Marçà winery and some vineyards in the municipality of La Serra d’Almos. The age of the vines is between 15 and 35 years old. Organic viticulture. Work is done 100 % manually.

Winemaking

Harvest in boxes of 10 kilos and immediately the grapes are transported to the cellar where a part of the pedicel is introduced in cement tanks of 17.700 litres. Native yeast and without any additives. We use low-temperature fermentation to protect all the fruit. Aging to to same deposits of cement for a period of 6 months.   

Blend 

80% Red Grenache and 20% Samsó (Carignan).

Tasting

Show frankly the red fruits and the flowers (violets) that are combined with a fresh feeling. In their evolution appears some notes of black fruit and wild plants. Shiny ruby colour. In the mouth it has the freshness and a feeling of pleasant fluid that invites you to drink more and its hard to stop.

Viticulture and Vineyards

6 ha plot in the municipality of Marçà (El Priorat) of 15 years of age, on depleted granite soils. Organic viticulture. All work is done 100% manually. Harvest in boxes of 10 kilos.

Winemaking

Indigenous yeast, pressed for 6 hours with a spontaneous fermentation in a 2.000 litres capacity oak barrels (foudre). Aging for 5 months with the skin in the same fermentation barrels.

Coupage

100% White Grenache.

Tasting

Gold colour with a subtle aroma that reminds us the white fruits and flowers. When evolving, spread aniseed touches and wild flowers in the background, saline touches. Minerality present and it’s very personal. An ample and attractive mouth, with fresh acidity that will give it a structure of ageing and freshness.

Vespres Vinyes Velles

Viticulture and Vineyards

Properties between 50 and 70 years of the municipalities of Marçà, Falset and Capçanes. Soils made of various compositions, mostly stony, clayey and calcareous. Organic viticulture. All work is done 100% manually. Harvest in boxes of 10 kilos.

Winemaking

Indigenous yeasts and fermentation in cement tanks. Aging for a period of 9 months in 2.000 litres capacity foudres.

Blend

70% Samsó (carignan) and 30% Red Grenache.

Tasting

Elegance, freshness and volume in the mouth.

Cherry colour with the violet edge. Blunt nose of black forest fruit. Ripe sensations on a mineral background. Balsamic notes that combine the warmness of the most aromatic sandalwood. Fresh aftertaste and deep acidity. A faithful reflection of the vintage.

Viticulture and Vineyards

From 7 terraced vineyards of Partida Les Comes State, very steep. The upper part has slate soils and the lower, more clay. Ecological viticulture. All work is done 100% manually.

Winemaking

Grape was pressed for 7 hours. Did the fermentation with a controlled temperature in a 2.000 litres capacity big barrel (foudre). Aging 7 months in the same barrel where did the fermentation. Bottled and labelled by hand in original bottle of the first Burgundy wines with asymmetrical shapes.

Coupage

90% Red Grenache and 10% White Grenache.

Tasting

A pink pearls colour. Seductive, fragrant and generous; a rose with soul. Has an original nose of roses and sweet spices. On the palate, it is pronounced creamy, very broad and deep and with an extremely sweet and long finish. Very gastronomic wine. It can be paired with any dish.

La Florens

Viticulture and vineyards

It comes from an estate with 3 ha plantation of different ages 40, 70 and 100 years, in the municipality of Marçà (El Priorat) from clay compositions soils. La Florens is a selection of the best grapes from the 100-year plot. Organic viticulture and ecological winemaking process, where all work is done 100% manually. Harvest in boxes of 10 kilos.

Winemaking

Indigenous yeasts and fermentation in cement tanks with a 2.500 litre capacity (foudre) for a period of 14 months. Bottled in November 2016.

 Variety

100% Red Grenache.

Tasting

In the nose immediately shows black and ripe fruit. Balsamic notes and spicy bottom of black pepper and minerality with hints of stone fire. Then subtle aromas of pink and purple petals are displayed. In the mouth, sublime texture and voluminous entry of ripe fruit with a very good acidity. Well tamed tannins. Long and fresh aftertaste. A wine that will age very well.

Viticulture and Vineyards

Vineyards settled on terraces in the Les Comes Plot, at 450 meters height and very exposed to the wind that comes from the Mediterranean sea. 100% discomposed granite soil, with very little water retention and abundant minerals. Organic viticulture. All works are done manually. Harvest happens in boxes of 10 kilos.

Winemaking

Pressed for 7 hours. Fermentation and breeding in 2.000 litres of capacity. Aged 9 months with the skin.

Blend

100% White Grenache.

Tasting

Very fine and complex nose full of aromas of white fruit and flowers. Wild herbs and clear minerality, a faithful reflection of the farm from where it comes from. Lovely, velvety mouth, with good acidity and mineral character. Very broad and deep taste.
